Day Training Centre

The Day Training Centre, established since 1999, seeks to equip teenagers who are intellectually challenged with academic and life skills so that they may be able to cope with their living as independently as possible.  

We have individual learning and group learning sessions where they are taught from making drinks and table manners to handling of tools like screwdriver and hammer as well as combing the newspapers for current world affairs. At the Centre, each client is given a responsibility like boiling water for tea, setting up the place, cleaning and clearing rubbish. 

We organise outings to the malls where the clients can put to practice what they learnt in the classroom.  We also have team games to improve their motor skills and teach them the value of team spirit and sportsmanship.

The Centre currently has 13 clients on a two year programme running from 2007 to 2008.  Plans are underway to start another new group in the near future.
